I feel your pain. I was not able to get a Fidelity 1099 to import either. It looks like it's not just a Fidelity problem. There are users with different financial institutions having similar problems(looking at the other help request messages). I think my problem is a large number of 1099-B transactions and I actually got a popup error message for 1099-B import failure. Unfortunately, none of the 1099s were imported, even though I received the "Success!" screen. I ended up doing the manual entry for 1099-B totals. This is in
I don't have a good answer. The import feature worked in previous years, but my 1099 was simpler.
I'd try turning off the popup blocker on your default browser.
Some other message threads suggest going directly to the 1099-DIV or 1099-INT pages to start the import. This did not work for me.
Yeah, I've seen a lot of problems of this type reported this year. For many, it turned out to be the default browser being used....always the "Brave" browser (so far) which was excessively rigorous in blocking the import data. You need to turn down/off its import data wall first (have forgotten what they called it).
I tried Safari and Chrome. I don't have Brave installed. I had successful institution logons, but no imports. It looks like the "Success!" message is just based on the successful logon and import request, not actual data transfer.
Ok...another shot in the dark.
One person said they had success by selecting the Fidelity NetBenefits instead of the Fidelity Brokerage.
Of course, that would indicate a MAJOR interface issue between TTX and Fidleity if it works...since Fidelity NetBenefits is for something entirely different, dealing with Company Pensions, and Medical Services...etc..
Went to the Fidelity site, followed the turbotax software link ...did the return online and everything imported!
Had to switch browsers (from Firefox to Edge) to file return as the captcha would not load.
Thinking it was all a browser issue!
