Why can't I change 2024 federal schedule R from Box 7 checked to Box 6 checked

Spouse is legally blind and retired

For box 6 to be checked, the tax filer must be age 65 or older and the other spouse must be under 65. You need to make sure you indicated that when you entered the birthdates in the personal information section for each taxpayer. Also, the spouse must have retired because of a permanent and total disability, you need to indicate that when asked in the credit for elderly and disabled section:
