I tried to file my returns last night but I got an error saying a return had already been filed by someone with my Social Security number. I have already resolved this issue with the IRS and will need to mail my return.
My question, however, is whether or not I can find out if a payment went through successfully.Before filing, step 2 is to pay what you owe for your federal return. I entered my banking information and submitted the payment. However, I never received an email or notification that the payment actually went through.
The IRS did not yet record of the payment, but it was submitted only last night. I then called TurboTax support and was on hold for 2 and a half hours before someone just hung up on me. I'd really like to avoid a similar situation and the atrocious hold music, so I thought I'd try my luck in the forums. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

My husband and I received the same message. We tried calling and went through the automated prompts. After the phone call I thought turbotax would have resolved issue but I am still unable to transmit.
Thanks for responding. Did you owe money or get a refund? I'm just very weary about submitting my payment again and getting charged twice.
