Federal Home saving bond state deduction

The state of Ohio does not allow for any adjustments and I tried to create or modify my 1099-INT and Nothing works to allow the tax deduction on the state of Ohio.

I should have said Federal Home Loan Bank Bond state deduction

The simplest solution is to return to the federal income and edit the 1099-INT. Take the savings bond interest out of box 1 and put it in box 3. 

For example: 

• currently Box 1 $200, Box $0
• your paperwork shows Savings bond interest $20
• change to Box 1 $180, Box 3 $20
