Federal filing married jointly, how do I allocate NJ part year income?

My husband and I are filing federal jointly. I moved out of NJ to DE for my new job in June but my husband stayed and worked in NJ until Nov, and then moved to DE.

My question is about the part year joint filing for NJ. The form asks for the resident date, and I think putting my husband resident date is more accurate, which is 1/1/2024 to 11/17/2024.

In this case, should I include my income earned in DE between Jun and Nov? If so, my income will be double taxed by both NJ and DE. Can I exclude my income from DE when filing NJ returns?

Only include the income earned while each of you were a resident of NJ. That would be your income through June and your husband's income through November.
