 if you through the Turbotax questions it will determine your filing status.

By "filing status", are you instead wanting to ask about your your efile status of a return you recently efiled?   If so, then if you used Online TurboTax, log into your TurboTax account, and at the Tax Home you can see what the efile status is.   If you recently efiled successfully, it likely still says "pending."  Approximately 24-48 hours after efiling  (or could be sooner or longer), that should change when the IRS either accepts or rejects the efiled return.   If it currently says anything other than pending, accepted, or rejected, report back.  If it says printed, started, ready to mail, etc. then it hasn't been efiled.

If you used desktop software (CD/download), you check the efile status from inside the software.  We can tell you how.

Or are you asking about the filing status used on your return--single, married filing jointly, married filing separately, etc.
