Federal Accepted, State Rejected

My Federal return was accepted, the State rejected.
What happens if revising my State return changes a number that appears on the Federal return?

I can't come up with anything in the nature of a pure state change that would change the Federal.  data flows from the Federal to the state and then there are state adjustments but they don't affect the federal.   if it does then you'll also have to file an amended federal return.
