I filed for an extension in May and line 6 on extension form (Balance due) was zero. I am filing now and owe taxes.  Cannot find anyone from TurboTax to ask. Any ideas?

No one can see your tax return or your screen.   We have no way to know how complete the data was that you entered when you requested your extension.   If you did not owe any tax or were getting a refund, you did not even need an extension because you have three years to file if you are getting a refund or do not owe.   However, if you owe, you do need to ask for an extension if you cannot file by the deadline, and you needed to pay your estimated tax due by the May 17 deadline.   If you have now entered all of your information and you owe, then you need to pay what you owe when you file the return.

If you have federal tax due you can pay by mailing your payment with the 1040V voucher, (which has the address printed on it, having the payment taken out of a designated bank account, or you can pay directly on the IRS website.

You must pay your state tax due using the state’s preferred method of receiving payment.  For most states that will be by making a payment to the state’s own tax website, or by mailing a check or money order.

@amouzadeh You say line 6 on your Form 4868 was zero.   What did you have on lines 4 and 5?

Line 5 was larger than line 4.
