Extension Verbiage

I did just hit the button very reluctantly! Literally at 10:01 EST. The verbiage says it will file but I got confirmation it only did the extension. Very inconvenient and stressful for a product that isn’t supposed to be stressful lol

What is the problem?  You filed an extension request---what else did you think you would be filing?   An extension gives you extra time to prepare your Form 1040 and file it.  You now have up until October 15 to e-file your federal return.  You can file sooner if you want to.   Any tax due must still be paid by April 15, 2026.

I don’t have a problem! I am posting my comment about the hundreds of other comments regarding the extension verbiage that TurboTax is using on the last page which is misleading and incorrect. I’m informing the community that I went through with the filing regardless of the misleading verbiage because TurboTax promised that it would not file my return, and I was showing the community then, in fact it worked when I pressed the button
