Estimated tax 2017

When i printed my 2016 tax return 4 vouchers were also printed, saying I had to send in "Estimated Payments for 2017" (one for each quarter).  Why did this happen?  We only owed a little this year and I have never paid "estimated payments" before.  I don't want to do this.  How do I fix the situation?  Thanks

All you have to do is shred the 4 estimated tax payment vouchers.  There is nothing else you have to do.
