My husband's father died in 2021. Husband is the only heir. The Estate sold the house in 2023 to an unrelated party (perhaps it was a mistake not to transfer it first to my husband?). Does the sale of the house get reported on the Estate's 1041? If so, where? Or because my husband is the sole heir, does everything pass through to his personal tax return? Thank you

If the estate sold the house it gets reported on a 1041.
I know it is on the 1041, but where? Capital Gains? Do I need Schedule D and any associated forms like 8949?
Form 8949 and Sch D.
