Error in calculating retirement contributions

My wife's retirement contribution is calculated incorrectly.

Here to total income for 2024 was $35791 of which she contributed $3298 to a 401K and $1564 to a ROTH IRA.

However Turbotax says "all contributions from Betsy's W2" is $33798. This is clearly incorrect.

How can I fix it?

Looks like it added a "3"  and changed the 2 to a 7 for  3298 and made it 33798 in W2 box 12.  Did you import the W2?  That can import wrong.  Delete the W2 and enter it again Manually.  That usually fixes it.

You might need to check her W-2 entry:

  1. Click on "Search" on the top right and type “W-2”
  2. Click on “Jump to W-2”
  3. Click "Edit" next to her W-2 and review her box 12 entry with code D

Thank you so much!

I deleted the import and input the data manually and the problem was solved.

I tried it but it didn't work.

I ended up deleting the import data and putting it in manually, which solved the problem.

It's still not fixed.

I deleted the W2 and re-entered it manually. Twice.

It still calculates it wrong.

Perhaps Intuit can help fix it?

I would like to take a deeper look at this. However, I need a diagnostic file which is a copy of your tax return that has all of your personal information removed. You can send one to us by following the directions below:

TurboTax Online:

  1. Sign into your online account.
  2. Locate the Tax Tools on the left-hand side of the screen.
  3. A drop-down will appear. Select Tools
  4. On the pop-up screen, click on “Share my file with agent.”
  5. This will generate a message that a diagnostic file gets sanitized and transmitted to us.
  6. Please provide the Token Number that was generated in the response.

TurboTax Desktop/Download Versions:

  1. Open your return.
  2. Click the Online tab in the black bar across the top of TurboTax and select “Send Tax File to Agent” *
  3. This will generate a message that a diagnostic copy will be created.  Click on OK and the tax file will be sanitized and transmitted to us.
  4. Please provide the Token Number (including the dash) that was generated in the response.

*(If using a MAC, go to the menu at the top of the screen, select Help, then, “Send Tax File to Agent”)
