Error code 25300 tax year 2025

Turbo Tax opens in Forms mode with error code 25300.  I've just started my return, already a problem.  I've closed and reopened the app.  Same error code.  Dead in the water.

TurboTax Error 25300 occurs when a tax file is corrupted or forced into Forms Mode, often preventing navigation back to Step-by-Step.

Fixes are:

• Run as Administrator:
  • Right-click the TurboTax icon and
  • Select "Run as administrator"
  • This will allow for necessary updates.
• Update Software:
  • Ensure TurboTax is updated via
  • Online > Check for updates menu.
• "File Electronically" Workaround:
  • While stuck in Forms Mode, go to
  • File
  • Electronic Filing
  • File Electronically.
  • Do not actually file anything.
  • This process can force the return back into Step-by-Step mode.
