Employer issued a wrong code under Box 12 on W2

Hello,  my employer issued a W2 that has an incorrect code under Box 12.  They have code the contributions that I put into my HSA as employer contribution (Code W).  However, the amount were taken out of my pay and was not a contribution from the employer.  The HSA administrator has issued a Form 5498-SA that shows my contribution as well.  In this case, do I still need to wait for my employer to correct my W2 or can I go ahead and file?

The W-2 is correct.  All amounts contributed through your employer, including those made from your pay, are considered to be employer contributions because your employer excludes the code-W amount from your wages reported in box 1 of your W-2.  Do not enter these contributions as personal contributions.
