Employer changed payroll companies mid-year. Received a W-2 processed by the new payroll company that included all earnings for the year (includes income and taxes that the old payroll company processed.) However, old payroll company also produced a W-2 for earnings for the first half of the year.
Do I need to wait to file until this is corrected? W-2's. have the same EIN, just the amounts are different. Will the IRS add the income on the two W-2's thinking I earned more than I actually did?

you need a corrected w-2. the IRS most certainly will add the wages on both w-2's and compare it to what you report. speak to your employer because if you have the issue so does every other employee.
