efiled retur rejected due to AGI

My wife and I filed jointly last year with Turbotax.  This year, when efiling jointly again. Turbotax requested last years AGI for both of us.  It automatically entered our last years AGI.  I checked this against our copy of last years return and it was correct.  It requested and AGI for each of us.   I entered the same amount, even though it was a joint return, as I had read on the forum that was the proper thing to do.  The return was rejected by the FED because of an innaccurate AGI for me.  The State return, which cost us and additional $20 just to efile, was also rejected because the FED return had been rejected.  I rechecked everything only to find that it was submitted accurately to start with.  I have resubmitted but expect another rejection.

I am a long time TurboTax user but have been disappointed this year.  First it failed to auto enter my basic information into my State return and now this.

There is a possibility that the IRS does not have your 2020 AGI in their database.

If the IRS rejects your e-filed tax return for the AGI then enter a 0 (zero) for the 2020 AGI and e-file the 2021 tax return again.

My second attempt to efile indeed failed as I suspected.  The first had been accurately filed, as I indicated.

I have just refiled, having listed both mine and my wife's AGI as 0, as you suggest.  We shall see how that goes.  I have heard no other explanations or suggestions, so I suppose my only other alternative, should this latest effort fail, is to file via mail.

Just an observation:  It seems incomprehensible that the IRS, if they require listing one's previous year AGI as a means of ID, would not have provided some access to that information for themselves and that purpose.  But, these days incomprehensible tends to rule.
