efile rejection

Our 2021 efile was rejected by IRS because the 2020 AGI or PIN numbers did not agree. I know that the AGI number was correct and since we did not efile in 2020(and never efiled) before), I created PIN numbers for myself and my wife. I entered the same AGI for myself and my wife since we filed jointly and therefore thought this was correct. I even went on our IRS account to check the AGI for 2020 and it was correct. What is wrong? Has anyone also had this problem?

Ok ... since you mailed in the 2020 return and many of those were not processed by the end of filing season last year so the AGI is not in the system.  So you can try using a zero for the 2020 AGI  and sadly if that doesn't work you will have to mail in the return again.
