This is my first time filing taxes independently. I worked at MSU as a Teacher's Assistant from 1-10-22 to 05-01-22 then had an internship while at home in Southeast Metro-Detroit from 5-16-22 to 8-19-22 then picked up my MSU TA job when moved back on campus 08-26-22 through 12-10-22.
I do not know how to answer East Lansing Residency question:
Am I:
East Lansing Resident?
East Lansing Part-Year Resident?
East Lansing Non-Resident?
Do Not Prepare E L return?
I selected Part-year resident as that seemed the most accurate. Then I have to indicate where I worked for both W-2's mentioned above. There is only one entry to specify one time living at East Lansing even though I lived there two times (Jan-May and Aug-Dec) in two separate locations excluding summer.
Any help you can provide is appreciated.

If your permanent home is in Detroit, you are a nonresident of East Lansing. The same rules for domicile apply to your city.
You are a Michigan resident if your domicile is in Michigan. Your domicile is where you have your permanent home. It is the place you plan to return to whenever you go away. You may have several residences, but you can have only one domicile at a time (MCL 206.18). See Form 3799, Statement to Determine State of Domicile.
