Completed my return. However I was not given the option to efile nor was there any warning that I could not efile.
Plus when I went to print the return to mail, the program did not print the forms needed for mailing.
I did update TT before starting the most recent viewing of the program.
What am I missing?

Why do you think you can not efile? What are you seeing?
Called customer service. After trying everything for an hour, we uninstalled Turbo Tax Deluxe then reinstalled it. After which the e-file option appeared. All save files appeared and I was able to e-file.
