The filing deadline is July 15, 2020--if you owe tax due you must pay by that deadline.  E-filing will be open until October 15, 2020 for 2019 returns.  After that, e-filing will close and 2019 returns will have to be submitted by mail.

If you are getting a refund, there is not a penalty for filing past the deadline.  If you owe taxes, the interest/penalties will be calculated by the IRS based on how much you owe and when they receive your return and payment. The IRS will bill you for this; it will not be calculated by TurboTax.

I just wanted to confirm this. Wasn't sure if I needed to mail it in. And yes, a refund is expected. Thank you.

If for some reason I am unable to file by July 15th, I need to file for an extension, right? Refund expected as mentioned. Thanks

You do not need an extension if you are getting a refund.
