Did you enter any interest income from a Form 1099-INT?

No

I also had this error, but had 1099-INT and 1099-DIV.  I deleted Schedule B which deleted both entries for 1099.  After re-entering these, I no longer had this error...but I still had to reenter which was annoying due to Intuit misusing a radio button.

I had that problem when I had 7a answered "No" AND line 7b answered "No".  Those were the "correct" answers but that combination created the error.  When I checked 7a "Yes" and left 7b UNANSWERED, the error went away.

You don't need a Schedule B for $45 of interest.   To enter your interest on a 1099-INT, click start next to Interest on 1099-INT and enter the payer's name and amount.   You can also search for 1099-INT and use the Jump to 1099-INT link to be taken straight to the entry screen.    It is easy to get to the wrong screen in TurboTax Online.  Choose I'll type in myself instead of trying to import or upload the form; it is easier to just type the name and amount.     @dac0803

Simply go on the form where the x is located on Line 7a on that Sch B and click directly on it. That should make it blank.

The other option as was mentioned by DoninGA is to delete the form in its entirety.

Hello, i have the same problem but i could not fix it after following the instructions of deleting all the 1099-INT and Div forms and manually re-enter them. You said that another solution is to go directly to the form and uncheck 7a under schedule B. How did you do that? I could not find the detailed schedule B forms but only 1040 summary.

This is truly frustrating. I’d appreciate your help.

I would like to take a deeper look at this. However, I need a diagnostic file which is a copy of your tax return that has all of your personal information removed. You can send one to us by following the directions below:

TurboTax Online:

  1. Sign into your online account.
  2. Locate the Tax Tools on the left-hand side of the screen.
  3. A drop-down will appear. Select Tools
  4. On the pop-up screen, click on “Share my file with agent.”
  5. This will generate a message that a diagnostic file gets sanitized and transmitted to us.
  6. Please provide the Token Number that was generated in the response.

TurboTax Desktop/Download Versions:

  1. Open your return.
  2. Click the Online tab in the black bar across the top of TurboTax and select “Send Tax File to Agent” *
  3. This will generate a message that a diagnostic copy will be created.  Click on OK and the tax file will be sanitized and transmitted to us.
  4. Please provide the Token Number (including the dash) that was generated in the response.

*(If using a MAC, go to the menu at the top of the screen, select Help, then, “Send Tax File to Agent”)
