I just downloaded TT deluxe (strike one - have to download since Intuit has killed off the CD version - thanks so much Intuit). Strike two, it pops up asking me to enter my email/phone/etc then my "intuit password". So I enter my Gmail address and last years turbotax password, which it then REJECTS. So I go back to last year's install to verify I entered the PW correctly, which I did. So then I struggle to find a chat or help area for this dumb problem, and am asked again to enter my email/phone/etc and my "intuit password".
Strike FOUR - how the F do am I supposed to get help with TT not accepting my TT password if Intuit requires that I first enter that same password to get help???? (How STUPID) So I had TT send me a text instead, and using that route I found that the problem was that Intuit thinks we should update our passwords every few months (even though we only log into Turbotax ONCE a year). Once I did, I was able to log into this community forum. But now, instead of asking for help, I'm venting about this dumb, dumb password process.
I assume Intuit execs fantasize about everyone making Intuit's site a home page so they can then try to sell us other junk). But come on, they should know that at least a large # of people are only going to log on to their site once a year. Is the IRS still offering their free tax software? Maybe it's time to check it out.
