The 2020 version of Turbotax Deluxe says it will download my W2. I put in my SS number and the amount from box 1 as instructed and I get back a reply that my information is invalid. Anyone have any idea what the problem is?
This is just a guess, but your employer, or your employer's payroll service, might have shut down their TurboTax import system. Maybe they didn't keep it up for the extended filing deadline.
Whatever the reason is, I suggest that you just enter your W-2 manually. It only takes a couple of minutes, and that will be a lot faster and easier than trying to figure out why importing it is not working.
