I am having the same problem. on Windows 10 same version. The disk and download produce the same error. Microsoft's SFC did not find any problems. I'm also seeing this same issue being posted on one of amazon's boards. Intuit, is there an updated version due out. If not, please advise an alternate way to accomplish the installation.
Please try the suggested solution posted by @DoninGA in this thread: Error 2894
My errors were from a Sam'sClub AND a TurboTax download. AND a club-purchased CD. After THREE calls to Microsoft, they finally decided to reinstall my corrupted windows 10. BUT it wouldn't install because of the issue. 6 telephone hours later, the install was finessed to download, was reinstalled, re-updated, and re-upgraded to current editions and successfully installed. I have now spent more hours on the phones with Microsoft AND Intuit than it will take me to do my taxes.
Getting error code 2894, has anyone found a way to install the software
Got a result on my own after badgering Microsoft. They needed to REINSTALL Windows 10 to correct the corruption that was preventing the download. But - of course - my system failed to download the special reinstall Window 10, so the tech had to backdoor and side-load the corrected, un-corrupted Windows 10. Since it was a LOOONG re-install, the tech said he would callback...he did not. If this happens, know that once restarting has finished you will still have to get all your windows 10 updates re-installed, as well.

I spent more than 6 hours on the phone with a TurboTax expert only to come to the conclusion that it is a MICROSOFT issue.
