Download TT software to Laptop

Purchased & recieved CD 2018 Deluxe ,now told ,not compatible w/current IMAC desktop.  I have MAC laptop with latest operating sys, but not CD capable.  Since purchase TT can I download 2018 deluxe to laptop?  If so how? Thanks

You would need to contact TurboTax support, they should be able to give a download of your software. The CD has both programs for Windows & Mac

1. Insert your CD into your Mac's CD/DVD drive or double-click your TurboTax download's .dmg file, which will mount a virtual drive on your desktop. The drive should automatically open.
2. Follow the directions in the pop-up window to drag the red TurboTax "checkmark" icon to the Applications folder in the pop-up window.
   • Don't drag it outside the pop-up window to your existing Applications folder or anywhere else.

You're done! To open your program, double-click TurboTax in the Applications folder. Ensure that you are running the program from the Applications folder, not from the mounted virtual drive or CD."

If you already have a Mac with a CD drive, your best bet is to load the CD into the drive, and copy the installer disk image file (*.dmg) to a flash drive, or upload it to a file sharing service like Dropbox, and move it to the laptop that way.  (The installer disk image file can be copied from place to place even if you can't run the installer on the iMac.)  Then when you open the .dmg file on your laptop, it will create a virtual disk window with the application in it that you will move to your Applications folder.  Restart the laptop just to be safe, then launch turbotax.  It will need to install the latest update before you can start preparing a tax return.
