this answer did not help me.  McAfee Total Protection icon on Windows 10 has NO disable option.

 

I just purchase turbotax premier 2019 and CANNOT download the software

1)I think you can disable McAfee by opening it up through clicking on the icon at the bottom of your screen or search for it using the Windows Start search box. 

I found it at this link: https://smallbusiness.chron.com/temporarily-disable-mc[product key removed]ction-54502.html

2) I don't have McAfee, but I had to turn off the Windows firewall that is part of Windows Defender virus software. Once it was off the download happened in just a few minutes.

Then I turned the firewall back on.

TurboTax may install and run flawlessly on one computer, yet the unique software configuration of another computer may cause conflicts with installation, launching, or running.
