We just purchased the Home & Business turbotax software. We have installed it on our computer. Because it is the first time we use a tax software program to do our taxes, we were going to put put in sample info onto the forms you use so that we could see the forms we would be dealing with.
We have had a problem with the hacking of our home router and are reluctant to put in real info at this time. The hacking problem in the meantime is being worked on.
Can we work with this program to achieve our initial goal of becoming familiar with the forms and program before we put in real sensitive information.

Yes. When you use the Desktop program it is only on your computer and your info doesn't go online except if you efile at the end. Or you can print and mail your return.
The Desktop program can do unlimited returns so you can do a test or practice one. Go up to File-New to start a new return. Give each return a unique name. You data only stays on your computer. Each tax return file ends in .tax2019 and should be kept in your Documents in a Turbo Tax folder.
Just saw this answer that will explain it some more.
