Dog is dependent, cat is not

My dog is very dependent on me for walks, grooming, medication, etc., not to mention constant companionship. So I will claim her as a dependent.

My cat, on the other hand, is quite independent, using a litter box, grooming herself, and not needing constant companionship, so I doubt I can claim her.

Did the kitty have over $4300 of income in 2021--not counting Social Security?

Both the cat and dog will need someone to take care of them while you are in jail.
