Does TurboTax add additional fees? I selected the Plus at a price of $29.99, now my fees are $69.98 when I am ready to file, where did the other $40 come from?

There is a 39.99 service fee if you choose to pay the TurboTax fees out of the Federal refund.

If you remove that and pay upfront with credit/debit card, you will avoid that fee.  Or you can use a prepaid debit card you can buy in a store for a few bucks.
