I sold some of my company stocks at a loss. Within a couple weeks, the regular semi-annual (Feb/Aug) company stocks purchase triggered and bought more stocks during this time. It was not my Buy order and I was not aware until I saw the Wash sale reported on my 1099-B.
Does this still apply as a wash sale even if this is a regular semi-annual company stock purchase?

Yes, it's a wash sale. You bought the new stock. It doesn't matter how the purchase was triggered. Signing up for the semi-annual purchases was your buy order.
In the future you might want to take the automatic purchase dates into account when you are considering selling at a loss.
thank you for your response.
