I have TurboTax 2022. How does it link with TurboTax online?

How does it link with TurboTax online?  The TurboTax desktop edition do Not link to the TurboTax online editions.

The TurboTax online and desktop edition are totally separate program with different features and different prices.

You install the software purchased and install it on your personal computer.  During installation you will be asked to enter the 16 license code.  After the program is installed you start a New tax return using the software.  Complete then file the tax return using the installed software.

Not sure what you are trying to "link."   If you use the CD/download then your tax return and the tax file are stored only on your own hard drive, not online in an online account.  Make sure you back up the file to a backup device like a flash drive or an external hard drive so you do not lose it in the event of a computer crash, etc.   

If you are asking if you can transfer a 2021 tax file to a 2022 return, you can do that.  It must be done at the very beginning before you enter any new 2022 information.
