Does Married filing jointly with zero dependents and zero additional withholdings cause zero taxes to be deducted from a paycheck?

It appears my employer hasn't been deducting taxes from my paycheck. When I questioned it, I was told it was b/c I claimed Married filing jointly with zero dependents and zero additional withholdings on my W-4. Would this cause zero taxes to be with held?

No.

Claiming no dependent and no additional withholding does not cause zero withholding.

This could be because your wages are below a certain level and the withholding tables give 0 withholding for this level of income.

@MinhT1  From what I can tell from the table, the with holdings should have been $9,370. (Incomes being $55k and $100k.) So it looks like my employer made an error and I’ll owe $10k this tax season. Bummer. Thanks so much for your response!!
