The 9 week answer is just an estimate for you. The statement of 9 weeks gives the IRS plenty of time. Most likely it will not take the full 9 weeks to process your return once the IRS has it in their office.

I have waited 9 full weeks and still have yet to update on my refund and IRS employees seem to not care and be unable to do anything.
