I want to file returns for 5 friends including their extensions.  Is that possible?

You cannot e-file extensions using the desktop software you are using. You can file extensions at https://turbotax.intuit.com/irs-tax-extensions/ or by mailing in paper.

Therefore filing extensions does not count against the 5 efile limit. That limit is an IRS limit, not a TT limit. You can get around that limit by installing on second computer/laptop etc.

Do your friends understand that an extension does not give you extra time to pay?
