Do I staple or use a paper clip to attach my w2 to my federal taxes?

The IRS instructed taxpayers to attach the W-2 to their return, but doesn't specify how. Some taxpayers use a staple, while others use a paper clip. Regardless of which method you choose, please ensure that the two documents do not become separated at any point during the pocess. In addition, please attach your W-2 to only the front page of your tax return.
