It depends. If both names are on the 1099-S and it includes the full amount of the sale you should each report half on your returns. If you both meet the exclusion requirements for a home sale, then it may be excluded as you indicate.

Do not be concerned about whose social security number (SSN) is on the document. If the IRS has questions later you will easily be able to show and explain.
I would check with your divorce attorney to make sure that there was nothing specific in the divorce decree about who would report the sale when sold.
