Do I report $250 income from a funeral

I conducted one grave side service for a relative and received $250. How do I report this? TurboTax wants me to say I am self-employed. Too complicated.

You can simply report it as miscellaneous (other) income.

@tagteam is correct. A one-time payment for conducting a funeral service for a relative is not self-employment income.

To report Other Income:

  1. Click Federal in the left column
  2. Click Wages & Income
  3. Scroll down to Less Common Income. Tap Show more
  4. Select Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C
  5. Select Other reportable income
  6. Say Yes to Any Other Taxable Income?
  7. Enter a description (funeral service) and amount ($250)
