Do I need TurboTax Premier as opposed to the Deluxe version if I had sold my home in 2016? The profit on the sale was well under $250,000. Can I use Deluxe?

You should be just fine using the Deluxe edition, unless there are other situations (investment income, rental property) that require an upgrade to Premier.
