Do I need to amend?

I called Turbo Tax in December because the IRS hasn’t processed my 2022 tax return and I didn’t get any correspondence from the IRS saying that they needed additional information. Turbo Tax told me that all I needed to do was mail out the physical copies of both the federal and state and it will take the IRS six months to process. Well, I look into my turbo tax account and the IRS rejected my return with no reason. Do I still amend? What should I do?

If the IRS rejected your tax return then you will have to print and mail the original tax return, You do NOT amend the 2022 return.

To access your prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Start the 2023 online tax return by entering some personal information then click on Tax Home on the left side of the screen.

On the Tax Home webpage -

Scroll down to the section Your tax returns & documents.  Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created.  TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.

Print the tax return.  Sign and date the Form 1040 on page 2 of the form.  Include with the Form 1040 all forms and schedules which have an Attachment Sequence Number in the upper right corner of the form or schedule.  You also need to include with the mailed tax return all forms W-2 and 1099 you received that have taxes withheld on the form.
