No, you don't need to enter an amount in box 1 or box 2 for your 1098-T, if those boxes were blank on the Form 1098-T you received.
But, if you believe the Form 1098-T is incorrect, e.g., if all or part of the scholarship amount reported in box 5 was used for tuition, you should contact the educational institution and ask for a corrected Form 1098-T.
Of the amount in box 5 used to pay for tuition,
report it as "tuition and fees not reported on a 1098-T"
