Do I have to file a tax return? I am retired and so is my spouse. She turned 65 in august and therefore had insurance through the marketplace for 7 months. Income is SSA

The only income we have is Social Security benefits. Which is less that $32k

yes because there is a 1095-A to be filed.

Yes you need to file if you have a 1095A from the marketplace.

Go to Federal> Wages & Income>>Retirement Plans and Social Security  (SSA1099 and 1099RRB) to enter your SSA1099.

Yes you must file because Social Security income is taxable. You and your wife should have each received Form SSA-1099-SM with the required information about your income

@BobVC Actually Social Security is only taxable if there are also other forms of income received.  If SS is the only income they are not required to file unless they have a 1095A from the marketplace or had tax withheld from the SS and want a refund.
