Do I file together with my spouse or separate if he is not permanent resident, doesn't have SSN and unemployed?

In my opinion, it would be a bad idea to include an undocumented and unemployed non-resident on your tax return if you are collecting wages by legal means on your own. Unfortunately the government is more interested in giving their quota of tax credits to employed US citizens.
