different costs

My sister and I just both completed our returns (completely separately), and were talking about the cost of Premium versus other options and the state download fee.  We both live in PA, and both used Premium.  Hers cost more for Premier ($30 more and then a "coupon" to make it $15 more than my original cost-$129 versus $99), and more for PA ($59 versus $39).  Why would there be a difference in our costs when she had no add ons, and I added the Max Defence at the end....)?

Sounds mixed up.   What versions did you both use?  Premium is the Online web version.  Premier is the Desktop installed program.   Pricing is completely different for Online and Desktop.  Sounds like one of you used the Online version and one used the Desktop program?

Plus when did you each file?  There was a price increase on March 1.  The early prices expire.  Before March 1 the Online state return was $39, now it is 59.

You mentioned a state download and also Premier.  Both of those are Desktop products not Online versions.  You don't download a state program with Online.

If you bought the Desktop program, where did you buy it?  What was the "coupon" from or for?   If you bought it at Costco or Sam's there is a $10 coupon to use towards any extra fees like to efile a state return.

Thank you!

I got mixed up in my names of versions!  We both have Turbo Tax Premium and Turbo Tax State:PA listed on our itemized list of products, and we both did online. It totally makes sense that the price increased after March 1...I did mine in Feb, and she did hers in March!

THANK YOU so much for the info and insight!!!!
