Hello! I am an iternational student on F1 visa. I file my taxes as a resident as I am in the US for more than 5 years. This year I have birth (April 6, 2023). My child is a US citizen. How should I file taxes for him? Also, my husband is in the US as well with me. He has F2 visa. How should I file taxes for him? basically I need to file taxes idicating my two dependents and how should I do that?
I bought a car in January 2023. How should I indicate that?

@Educ2022 Thanks for the question!! Congratulations on your new bundle of joy!!
Yes, you can file as a resident alien if you have stayed in the US for more than 5 years. If you both are in your 6th year or later and have met the Substantial Presence Test then all you have to do is apply for the ITIN for your spouse & file a Married filing Joint return. Also, you should apply for the SSN for your child. Your spouse is not your dependent, only your child can be claimed as a dependent on your return.
For the Vehicle purchase, you can enter the registration fees as an itemized deduction. But if the standard deduction is beneficial for you, then it does not apply.
