If my child is receiving DEA, is she still allowed to qualify for the American Opportunity Credit? We know we do not need to report the DEA on form 1099.

Dependents' Educational Assistance (DEA)
If the Dependents' Educational Assistance (DEA) is paying all your education expenses including tuition, fees, and equipment expenses at your child's college, you are not able to qualify for the American Opportunity Credit.
If you paid some of the tuition, fees, and equipment expenses you might qualify for the credit based on what you paid.
