Yes, just be sure to check the box stating you CAN be claimed by some one else

There is no rule as to which one files first--your dependent can file ahead of you. BUT if your dependent messes up and answers incorrectly and does not say they can be claimed as someone else's dependent, it will prevent YOU from e-filing, so make sure your dependent says he can be claimed.
