No, a dependent must file their own tax return unless it is certain unearned income. See filing requirements for dependents.

Can I still claim my dependent child since she is a college student and depends on us financially, despite her having to file taxes on her own?

If she meets all the qualifications (under age 24, a full time student and you provide more than 1/2 of her support among others) you can claim her as a dependent.  TurboTax will walk you through the interview.  Go through the questions CAREFULLY and if she qualifies, TurboTax will add her as a dependent on your return. @EC66
