Dependant changes name/ssn in 2024 but filing 2023

I have a dependent that changes name/ssn in Jan 2024... as I'm filing TY 2023 in April '24, which name/ssn should I use 2023 or current?

TIA!

The change should have been updated by the Social Security Administration for the IRS by now so I  suggest you use the updated (current) name and Social Security number.

Use the name that matches their current Social Security card.

FYI - all the bank, education, etc. 1098/99's for the dependent are all in the old names/ssn.

Thanks!

Will it cause an issue for the taxman if all the interest, education, etc. forms for the dependent will be in the old name/ssn?
