Deluxe to premium
Hello,
I purchased Turbo Tax Deluxe but I found out I need Premium to report property sales income I made on inherited property. Can I upgrade the desktop version, or do I need to purchase a whole new software?

You do not need to upgrade your Deluxe desktop edition to report investment income on an inherited property. All the desktop editions have the same forms, schedules and worksheets.
The software will indicate that the Premier edition is recommended. But it is Not required.
You can upgrade if you choose to do so by clicking Upgrade TurboTax at the bottom right of the desktop program page. You would only pay the difference between the Deluxe and Premier editions.
To enter an investment sale other than from a brokerage account (1099-B), follow the steps below.
Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
Click on Wages and Income (Personal Income using Home and Business)
Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
Under Investment Income
On Stocks, Cryptocurrency, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other, click the start or update button
Or enter investment sales in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to investment sales
Using the desktop editions -
On the next screen click on Yes
On the next screen click on Skip import
On the next screen, select Other and continue
