Deceased taxes

Person died in 2023. Filed their personal taxes using the estate ein and not their ssn. Do I need to file an amended return?

You still use their ssn on their final 1040 return. The EIN goes on the Estate tax return form 1041 if you file one. To file an Estate return, You need the Turbo Tax Business Desktop program. It is a separate program from Home & Business. It is not available to do online or on a Mac. And it will not do your personal 1040 return. You can have both Turbo Tax Business and a personal version (like Home & Business) installed at the same time.
